  • A must do activity for any kind of tourist but especially for families is to visit the Fields of the Wood Bible Park. It is just a 30 minute drive away from Blue Ridge and it has been rated by critics as the number one Family Attraction in the entire North Georgia area. As the name suggests the park is dominated by the bible theme, you can climb the Ten Commandments Mountain, see Golgotha or visit a replica of Jesus’ tomb.

  • Adrenaline junkies will be pleased to know that 30 minutes away drive from Blue Ridge will find the Ocoee River. Here they can experience white water rafting on class 3 and 4 rapids. This is known to be one of the best places for whitewater rafting from all over Georgia.

  • In case you get hungry you might want to stop at Blue Ridge Mountain Bar-B-Q for an authentic southern gourmet experience. Here you will be able to enjoy slow hickory-smoked ribs, baked beans, fresh country slaw, crispy onion rings and many more traditional southern foods. Combine all these great foods with excellent service with a warm and friendly atmosphere and you got yourself an unforgettable dinning experience.

  • Blue Ridge is packed with festivals all year long but only one of them grasps the attention of tourists from all over the country. Oktoberfest is a must attend event if you enjoy good entertainment, food, and fine beer. The festival takes place in Helen near Blue Ridge and it is copied from the Bavarian town of Munich.

  • Another great activity which no tourist should miss out on is picnic at Horseshoe Bend Park on the River McCaysville. This is the perfect spot for relaxing and unwinding. Here tourists have several activities at their disposal, they can either go fishing in the Toccoa River or play sports in the ball fields or even enjoy a nice picnic with the family at the designated picnic tables. Music lovers will be happy to know that from May to September Horseshoe Bend Park is home to live music evenings.

  • Tourists who want to experience local tradition and products can visit Mercier Orchards located on Hwy 5. This is not your common farmer’s market. Here you can stop before a picnic and fill your bascket with all sorts of goodies such as fried pies, cider, jams, fruits all made by the locals. Here you will also find a gift shop to buy souvenirs for your dear ones or take a peek at the garden nursery.
